Bulldogs at World Cup Nines

The Canterbury-Bankstown Bulldogs will have nine players represent their respective countries in the World Cup Nines at Bankwest Stadium on October 18 and 19.

Five of the nine players will be making their debuts at the International level, while five are yet to make their NRL debuts.

The inaugural World Cup Nines will feature 12 men's team and four women's teams with a group-style competition leading into knockout rounds.

Group A includes Australia, New Zealand, PNG and USA, Group B will include England, France, Lebanon and Wales, while Group C features Tonga, Samoa, Fiji and Cook Islands.

The two highest-placed teams from Group A would progress to the Semi Finals, alongside the winners of Groups B and C.

The tournament kicks off on Friday October 18 with France playing Lebanon in the opening game at 6.20pm before the men’s final closes the Nines at 9pm on Saturday October 19.

Bulldogs in World Cup Nines:

* Kayne Kalache, James Roumanos and Elie El-Zakeham selected for Lebanon

* Reimis Smith, Corey Harawira-Naera and Jeremy Marshall-King named in New Zealand’s 16-man squad

* Toa-Mata’afa named for Samoa

* Tui Katoa and Sione Katoa selected for Tonga.

Supporters can attend Friday’s matches from $30 for Adults and $80 for families, while tickets are available for Saturday’s games, including the semi-finals and finals of the men’s and women’s tournaments, from $49 (Adults) and $135 (families).

Fans are also reminded that two-day passes are also available ($70 for Adults and $150 for families).
