Jayden surprises Milperra junior

When the Men of League Foundation heard that Milperra Colts Under 13's winger Zane Omari had broken his femur in a freak on-field injury they knew they had to help lift his spirits.

Wheelchair bound for up to 8 weeks and with a long period of rehabilitation ahead of him, Zane understandably needed a bit of a boost.

The Foundation reached out to their official partner the Canterbury Bankstown Bulldogs to see if one of Zane's favourite players Jayden Okunbor would assist by providing a video message of encouragement for the young fan.

Zane and his teammates have long admired Jayden as a local hero and product of the Milperra Colts himself.  On receiving the request for the video message Jayden didn't hesitate and decided to go one better. It was quickly arranged for Jayden to accompany Men of League Foundation Wellbeing Officer and former Bulldog Luke Goodwin on a surprise visit.

With the assistance of the Omari family, the next day the pair set off, signed jersey in hand, to surprise Zane with a visit to his home. Zane couldn't believe his eyes when but immediately recognised the 196cm winger Jayden entered the room, ducking to clear the door frame.

Luke, Jayden and the Omari family had a great afternoon talking all things footy. The Men of League Foundation will continue to stay in touch with Zane and his family during his recovery and together with the Bulldogs wish him all the best.
