Canterbury Girls High School students stepped into the Bulldogs Game-Changers Physical Health course in a bid to understand health and wellbeing beyond the classroom.
And it's fair to say that their understanding of physical health was much greater when they left Belmore compared to when they arrived after learning about foundational topics including nutrition, hygiene, hydration, sleep, risk awareness, and consistent routines - not for perfection, but for sustainable health.
Bulldogs NRL Game Development Officers lead low-impact ballwork drills highlighting coordination and joint stability, while the Group Exercise Coordinator included a 'Strength for Life' workshop, teaching exercises and skills for lifelong movement and injury prevention including squats, bends, pushes, and carries.
"The Bulldogs have always believed that our role in this community extends far beyond what happens on the field, and the Game-Changers program reflects that," said CEO Aaron Warburton.
"Seven core subjects, proudly developed in collaboration with the NSW Department of Education and aligned with the department's Life Ready course, backed by NSW Police and the Australian Defence Force — this is a serious investment in the futures of young people in our region, and we are proud to be part of it."
With the support of course sponsor The Butcher Boys, students left equipped with knowledge, practical experience, and belief in the value of their health.
