The Canterbury-Bankstown Bulldogs have officially unveiled a new mural honouring two of the Club’s greatest captains at Jobel’s Cafe in Belmore in partnership with proud partners, Wattyl.
Bulldogs Members and supporters who may have kept a close eye on the developments can now witness the brand-new piece for themselves, which features Club Legend Terry Lamb and current Bulldogs Captain Stephen Crichton.
Renowned street artist Sid Tapia, who has completed a number of murals in the Rugby League sphere across a number ofseveral clubs, was the master designer tasked with giving the local landmark a well-deserved facelift.
The mural’s concept adorning the popular Belmore cafe perfectly recognises and intertwines the proud past and looking towards a strong future.
The Blue and White monochromatic design features Crichton’s famous badge clutching try celebration at Belmore Sports Ground in Round 22 of the 2024 season, a modern moment that is etched in the hearts and minds of Bulldogs Members and supporters everywhere.
Alongside it is one of the most famous images in Club history – Lamb holding aloft the Premiership trophy following his side’s 17-4 upset victory against Manly in the 1995 ARL Grand Final. Tapia’s design also includes the current Bulldogs logo on Lamb’s hat, putting a modern twist on a snapshot that has been immortalised in Rugby league.
Lamb (Bulldogs no.477) has a glittering résumé with the Bulldogs which includes 262 first-grade games, three Premierships (including one as Captain) as well as a litany of other personal achievements at State and International level.
One of the most decorated players in Club history, ‘Baa’ is a Bulldogs Life Member, as well as a member of the Club’s Hall of Fame, Ring of Champions and 70 Year Team of Champions.
Crichton (Bulldog no.854), who was bestowed with the Club’s captaincy since his arrival in 2024, has played 51 matches for the Bulldogs, as of writing, having won three Premiership titles at the Penrith Panthers.
In his first year at the helm, the Samoan International and NSW State of Origin star led his side to the Club’s first finals series since 2016. The following season, his leadership saw the Bulldogs claim a topfour finish for the first time since 2012.
Bulldogs v Raiders – Round 22, 2024
The mural was completed with the Bulldogs 2026 logo as well as the Wattyl logo, both of which proudly sit next to one another, highlighting the strength of the partnership.
The Bulldogs would like to thank Wattyl – who are proud NRL sleeve partners and NRLW front of jersey partners – for their commitment to the project, Sid Tapia for bringing the mural to life and Josephine Nakhoul, owner of Jobel’s Cafe, for her hospitality and permissions.
