In this new series, we’ll be celebrating the best of our 90-Year Anniversary – from our Club events to our record-breaking crowds and best performances – these are the moments that made 2025.
For our first edition, we’re throwing it all the way back to the beginning of the year when we officially kicked off our Anniversary Celebrations – at the 90-Year Gala Night!
In a night of glitz and glamour at Sydney Town Hall, a mix of Bulldogs Legends, Members and supporters as well as media personalities to celebrate the Club’s historic 90-Year Anniversary.
The night kicked off with an unforgettable performance by The Sapphires, before MC and fan favourite commentator Andrew Voss began formalities including an insightful Q&A with Club greats and Premiership winners Dr. George Peponis, Peter Mortimer and Graeme Hughes.
In celebrating the Club’s foundations, the 1935 Commemorative Jersey was revealed, garnering plenty of praise for its sleek design in honouring the original Bulldogs who wore the same strip on April 25, 1935 – their very first match in first-grade.
The 2025 NRL squad was officially unveiled, as well as the inaugural NRLW squad, much to the delight of Members and fans anticipating another action-packed season.
No doubt the highlight of the night was the induction of three new members of the Bulldogs Hall of Fame.
Star of the 1960s and 1970s Johnny Greaves, fan-favourite record breaker Hazem El Masri and five-time Premiership winner Steve Folkes were honoured for their contributions both on and off field throughout their stellar careers in the Blue and White, joining Eddie Burns, Les Johns, Dr. George Peponis, Steve Mortimer and Terry Lamb in the Hall of Fame.
El Masri was presented with his Hall of Fame jacket live on stage during an exclusive Q&A, while family members ofGreaves and Folkes were on hand to be presented with their respective jackets, speaking candidly on behalf of the legendary pair.
All in all, it was an unforgettable night celebrating the past, present and future of the Bulldogs in a perfect way to start one of the most highly anticipated years in the Club’s proud history.
