Bulldogs Academy Team List: Round 4

After another solid weekend of junior representative football for the Bulldogs in Round 3, the Club's squads are preparing to line up for their fourth match of the season, with team lists announced today.

Round 3 saw the Bulldogs' Lisa Fiaola, Tarsha Gale and Harold Matthews Cup squads dominate their Penrith opposition, earning convincing 48-4, 72-4 and 46-10 wins respectively. Meanwhile, the SG Ball Cup team earned a 22-22 draw in a nail-biting contest against some of the state's next-best and emerging league stars.

This weekend, the Club's female pathways will take on the Rabbitohs; the SG Ball Cup squad will face off with the Raiders; and the Harold Matthews side will enjoy a well-earned rest during a Round 4 bye.

A word from the Coach, Michael Stuart: "Coming into Round 3 against an unbeaten Penrith team, our goal was to up our energy and play some consistent rugby league,"

"It took the girls a good 10 minutes to find their way into the game with numerous opportunities missed. Once the nerves settled, the girls went on to score 24 unanswered points in the first half and continued into the second half with confidence. Debutant Kiana Vatubua scored two tries including a 90-meter kick return. Tejahla-Jane Daniels-Maifea was the standout of the day.
We look forward to bringing the same energy into this week against Souths."

A word from the Coach, Bou Ovington: "With Panthers coming off strong wins in the opening two Rounds of the Season, the Tarsha Gale squad were excited for the challenge on Saturday at Federation Forrest Reserve,"

"The focus this week, as always, was for us to improve in areas like patience and discipline within our processes. In the first half, we were good with the ball, we just needed to tighten up defensively. We went out with those goals in mind. The second half was a genuine adjustment in attitude: relentless. The girls put in a performance with 100% completions until the final play of the game, never giving the Panthers an opportunity with the ball," Ovington said.

"There is still a long way to go with a lot of things left to improve on. But we’ll keep aiming to get better each week.”
