Pregame Notes: Round 9 v Dragons

The Canterbury-Bankstown Bulldogs head into Sundays Round 9 fixture against the St George Illawarra Dragons pursuing a win off the back of three straight losses.

With a wounded side, Cameron Ciraldo has made a switch in this week’s line-up with intent to take down the Dragons who sit at fourteen on the NRL ladder.

Bulldogs: Ciraldo has opted to start fan favourite Josh Reynolds in the halves, leaving Kyle Flanagan on the extended bench. Kurtis Morrin moves to the interchange bench after achieving an impressive 190 run metres in NSW Cup in Round 8. Fa’amanu Brown returns from a dislocated elbow on the extended bench.

Dragons: Tautau Moga sits out this week after suffering a shoulder injury in ANZAC Round, making way for Max Feagai to make his return to NRL for the first time since 2021.

Head-to-Head Watch

Ben Hunt v Matt Burton: The team selection chatter around State of Origin is starting to take place, with incumbent representative players Ben Hunt and Matt Burton in contention for this year's series. Both Captain's will have plenty to play for with both sides separated by points differential on the NRL ladder. Burton will have plenty of experience by his side, when he links up with Josh Reynolds in the halves. The latter boasting an impressive record of winning 11 out of 12 matches against the Dragons throughout his NRL career.
