Harold Matthews Cup v Dragons

A try to Jope Raque in the first set of the game kick started the Harold Matt’s season for 2023. Leading 20-nil, the St George Dragons then staged a come back making it 20-18 off the back of some ruck infringements by the Bulldogs which eventuated also to losing a man to the bin for a professional foul.

However the Harold Matthews Cup side held their nerve, and with some strong carries from their middle forwards late in the second half Mason Phillips was able to crash over the line and then moments later Alelua crossed the line taking the final score to 32-22. 

Next week sees us take on the South Sydney Rabbitohs at Redfern who will be fresh and rearing to go after having a first-round bye. - Shannon Rushworth (Head Coach)

SG Ball Cup v Dragons

Local junior Jordi Mazzone scored 3 tries to help the Canterbury bulldogs sg ball side start off their campaign with a win over the St George Dragons.

Handling the ball proved to be quite difficult in the early stages of the game, but some impact from Fanafou Seve and Massimo Mari changed the momentum of the game with some strong carries and intent in defence. - Mitch Lewis (Head Coach)
