The Canterbury-Bankstown Bulldogs are calling on Members and supporters to donate and help raise funds to tackle homelessness ahead of the annual Mayor’s Lights Out Sleepout.
Now in its fourth year, the Sleepout brings together community leaders, local businesses and residents to raise funds and awareness for people experiencing, or at risk of, homelessness.
The Bulldogs have thrown their support behind the cause with Belmore Sports Ground locked in to again host the Sleepout in collaboration with the City of Canterbury-Bankstown on Friday, 28th August.
The Mayor’s Lights Our Sleepout has raised more than $78,000 over the last three years with donated funds going to three charities tackling homelessness.
From 6pm on Friday evening until 7am the following morning, participants will brave the winter cold with only a cardboard shelter, while connecting with frontline organisations supporting people doing it tough across our community.
This year, Canterbury League Club CEO Greg Pickering will be participating in the Sleepout – and has set a personal fundraising target of $20,000.

The Sleepout is supporting three charity partners: Mission Australia, Maronites on Mission Australia and Brothers in Need.
These organisations provide meals, community outreach, emergency assistance, and practical support for people experiencing hardship and housing insecurity.
