The Parramatta Eels have come away with a narrow Round 8 win in the Jersey Flegg Cup after defeating Canterbury-Bankstown Bulldogs 12-8 at Stadium Australia on Saturday.

The Bulldogs had the halftime advantage with two tries through wingers Eli Clark and Laitia Moceidreke, but failed to convert on both occasions for an 8-6 lead at the break. The Eels’ sole try for the opening half came in the 26th minute when lock Jayden Yates crossed the stripe, which was followed up by a Kyle Schneider conversion.

The contest looked set for a try-less second stanza until three minutes before the final whistle when five-eighth Tevita Masima scored the match-winner. Schneider had no problem adding the extras to round out the 12-8 win.
