Jersey Flegg fall to Eels at Bankwest Stadium

Parramatta have upset the fourth placed Bulldogs after a convincing 28-10 win over the  Belmore based outfit.

The Bulldogs got off to a terrible start after Penisimani Teaupa was sent for a head injury assessment in the opening seconds of the match. The young forward was involved in a head clash with the Eels's Sam Hughes after colliding in the first hit up of the game.

Parramatta inflicted more misery minutes later when Valance Harris powered his way over down the right edge. Bailey Biondi-Olo added the extras to lead the home side to a 6-0 lead after 11 minutes.

The Eels went close in the 23rd minute, only for the young pups to hold out Parramatta with some impressive goal-line defence.

The Bulldog's patience was rewarded when Tui Katoa muscled over to have the visitors on the board 6-4 after 29 minutes.

Eel's halfback Biondi-Odo increased the home side's lead just before the halftime. He went on to add the extras to lead Parramatta 12-4 into the break.

The home side came out in the second stanza full guns blazing with Joseph Taipari crossing the line. Biondi-Odo converted his third goal of the evening to push the margin out to 14 points.

In the 52nd minute, Biondo-Odo scored his second try of the night. Three minutes later PJ Vaigalu pounced for the blue and gold to push the score out to 28-4.

The Bulldogs grabbed a late consolation try through Zachary Rumble who scooted down the right hand sideline to end the match.

Eels 28 (B. Biondi-Odo 2, J. Taipari, V. Harris, PJ. Vaigalu, tries; B. Biondi-Odo 4 goals) def. Bulldogs 10 (T. Katoa, Z. Rumble tries; A. Seve 1 goal)
