Two Canterbury-Bankstown Bulldogs players have been named in the NSWRL under-20 squad to face Queensland in the State of Origin double-header at ANZ Stadium on Wednesday 10 July.
Winger Tui Katoa and back-rower Matthew Doorey have both been included in the team.
The Under-20 match will be played before Game Three of the State of Origin series decider and will be coached by Bulldogs 2004 premiership winner, Mark O’Meley.
Katoa, a local junior from the Chester Hill Hornets club is currently a development player with the club and is the brother of Cronulla Sharks winger Sione.
The outside back has featured in both the Canterbury Cup and Jersey Flegg sides throughout 2019 and is currently studying a Cert III and IV in fitness.
Meanwhile, Doorey arrived at the club midway through the 2018 season from the Parramatta Eels and since his arrival has been a consistent performer for the club’s under 20's side.
The 19-year old back-rower was selected in the Australian Schoolboys side which toured the UK at the end of last year having been schooled at Westfields Sports High.
The Kellyville Bushranger works as a teacher’s aide at Casula Public School.
NSW will be hoping to avenge last year’s 30-12 loss to Queensland at Suncorp Stadium which was their first loss since the Under-20 concept started in 2012.
