Bulldogs claim Intrust Super Premiership

Yesterday showed what the Bulldogs are all about.

After a season in which they played with tremendous spirit and incredible resilience, our Intrust Super Premiership team won an exciting Grand Final against the Newtown Jets by 18 points to 12.

It was a great afternoon for Rugby League.

Over 5000 fans packed into Leichhardt Oval to see a great contest that was exciting right up until the last minute.

With the lead changing hands several times during the match, the Jets drew level at 12-all with a penalty goal with fourteen minutes left. Then as the match looked like heading into extra time, young centre Morgan Harper produced the match-winning play after a one-on-one strip of the ball near the Newtown line to score the winning try in the corner.

With the impressive Rhyse Martin kicking a penalty goal from the sidelines in the final minutes, the game was over and the Bulldogs were able to claim their 12th Reserve Grade Premiership and their first since 2011.

The Bulldogs will now take on Queensland Premiers the Redcliffe Dolphins at 3-40 pm at ANZ Stadium on Sunday, as the lead-in match to the NRL Grand Final.

The game will be shown live on Channel Nine.

As always the club is extremely appreciative of your support and thanks you for continuing to be part of the Bulldogs family.
