Bulldogs lose in hard fought battle

The Canterbury-Bankstown Bulldogs Jersey Flegg squad has gone down to the Newcastle Knights by twelve points on Saturday afternoon.

Morgan Harper and Kayne Kalache both returned to the under 20s line-up following Intrust Super Premiership duties last week.

The Bulldogs Flegg team lost a hard fought game at Newcastle against the competition leaders on Friday night..

After starting the game well and jumping out to a four- nil lead through a try on debut for winger Moung Dut the Dogs were looking strong. A swing in possession and some costly errors saw the dogs go to the break down 12-4 after conceding two tries to the Knights.

The second half started the way the first half ended with the Knights on the attack and scoring two more tries to lead 22-4.

The last 20 minutes was back and forth with dogs having two tries  disallowed before finally crossing at the death and eventually going down to the Knights 22-10 in a very physical game.

Brandon Wakeham, Sam Radovu and Morgan Harper were standout performers on the night for the young Dogs.

Bulldogs Tries: 2- Muong Dut & Javvier Pitovao; Conversions: 1 - Brandon Wakeham

Jersey Flegg will take on the Tigers next Saturday July 21, at Belmore Sports Ground, 3:00pm.
