The Canterbury-Bankstown Bulldogs NYC team have finished the season with a 34-all draw this afternoon against the St George Illawarra Dragons at ANZ Stadium.

After trailing 22-10 at half time, the young pups scored four second half tries to the Dragons two and finish their 2017 season with a draw.

The Bulldogs three try scorers Zac Hethrington, Michael Doolan and Joseph Tramontana all finished the day with two tries each.

The Dragons started the match with three tries in the opening 15 minutes through Jackson Ford and a double to Jayden Morgan. Zac Lomax converted all three tries to give the home side an 18 nil lead.

The Bulldogs first try of the afternoon came in the 26th minute when half Michael Doolan scored out wide.

The Dragons hit back in the 35th minute when interchange forward Fa’atui Uele grabbed the Saints fourth try of the afternoon, before Zac Hethrington crashed over on debut for the Bulldogs just before half-time. Adam Keighran converted and the Dragons led 20-10 at the break.

The Bulldogs were fast out of the blocks in the second half and scored three tries in the opening ten minutes with Zac Hethrington grabbing a second and Joseph Tramontana scoring a double in the space of five minutes. Keighran converted all three tries to give the Bulldogs a 28-22 lead.

The Dragons bounced back with a try in the 59th minute through fullback Zac Lomax, before another from Jackson Willis in the 66th minute gave the home side a 34-28 lead.

A brilliant bit of work from Michael Doolan in the 73rd minute saw the number seven crash over for his second try of the afternoon and when Keighran added the extras, the game was locked at 34 all.

Both sides had their chances in the final five minutes, but neither could get on the score sheet to see both teams walk away from ANZ Stadium with a point.
