This Friday Brad Abbey and Marcelo Montoya will make their long awaited first grade debuts for the club when we take on the Warriors in Dunedin.

It was great to see the reaction on social media after Des announced his squad and gave the young pups the nod to make their first grade debut against the Warriors after injuries to Will Hopoate and Kerrod Holland.

With plenty of congratulations and well wishes, the support shown by the Bulldogs Family has helped the boys feel at ease coming into what is sure to be a nerve-racking but exciting experience.

"I'm very grateful for the support I have received over the week from the members and fans. I’m pretty nervous, but I’m really excited to wear the blue and white jersey for the first time. I can't thank our supporters enough for the love they have shown me this week," said debutant Brad Abbey.

The Bulldogs arrived in Dunedin on Wednesday afternoon ahead of their Round Three clash with the New Zealand Warriors.

The team was greeted at the airport with a traditional Dunedin welcome and told how much the local rugby league community was looking forward to supporting them on Friday night.
