Following visits to Hamilton (2014), and Wellington (2016); the Bulldogs have gained a strong support base in New Zealand, partly due to the history of Kiwi greats, both past and present, including Jarrod McCracken, Darryl Halligan, Sam Perrett, Sam Kasiano, and Greg Eastwood.

Canterbury-Bankstown Bulldogs Chief Executive Raelene Castle was delighted that the club has been able to strengthen its partnership with New Zealand fans by taking the Bulldogs Game Day experience to the passionate sporting fans of Dunedin.

“Dunedin Venues lobbied extremely hard to secure the Bulldogs home game experience for New Zealand Bulldogs fans, Warriors fans and sports fanatics alike and we are extremely privileged to bring the Bulldogs brand to Dunedin.” Said Castle.

"Forsyth Barr Stadium features a world class rectangular field, that includes an all-weather roof, a flexible seating layout and is an eight minute journey on public transport from the University."

Terry Davies,CEO, Dunedin Venues Management Limited, was also excited at the Bulldogs staging a match in Dunedin:‘It’s a fantastic result for the Stadium and the city to secure an in-season NRL match.  We know our local fans will be thrilled to see these stars of Rugby League playing under the roof and we’re expecting a great crowd if past matches are anything to go by.’
