On Monday night the Bulldogs welcomed fullback Will Hopoate back into the side after he missed three rounds due to the commitment he has made to his religion.

Despite being out of action, teammate Josh Reynolds had nothing but praise for Will.

“He’s been exceptional to tell you the truth,” Reynolds said.

Will’s talent has been missed over the past month but he had no issue getting back into the swing of things according to Josh as he proved to be a crucial part of Monday night’s near victory over the table-topping Sharks.

“That break he made on the weekend opened up the game and I really think he’s been great for this club.”

It’s clear that Josh isn’t the only teammate that is full of praise for Will, with Will receiving the highly regarded players’ player accolade four times in the ten games he’s played, much to the jealously of Josh.

“They’re the ones you want to get as a player, I know I walk past there day in and day out and hope that I get one soon but Hopa is taking them all at the moment.”

It came as a shock to many people, including Josh when Will wasn’t named in the NSW State of Origin side after he made an impact for the Blues in last year’s Origin series.

Josh thinks Will’s form speaks for itself and believes he deserves a spot in the side.

“I think he should be there one hundred percent going off his form and what he’s done. I know people will say the three weeks off for what he had to do didn’t help his cause but the writing is on the wall.”
