After going down to the Parramatta Eels in round 3, we take a look at the key Quotes and Notes to come out of the loss.

QUOTES

Bulldogs Head Coach Des Hasler:

The team’s performance – “I thought the Eels competed a bit better than us.”

The No Try given - "It probably was a momentum killer. The only thing I can assume is that he shouldn't have called a try, he should have sent it straight to the bunker I guess."

Should we change the Try/No Try on field ruling – ““I know they were talking about it and I know (ref’s boss) Tony Archer said they were going to just monitor it and see how it goes. Maybe tonight is an indication, that is what they do going forward.”

Greg Eastwood injury update - "Yeah he should be right for next week. It was probably a call this early in the season not to risk it, he should be ok,"

Bulldogs Skipper James Graham:

Thoughts on the No Try - "I guess that they'd given try and I guess I didn't know you could overturn it on a forward pass but I don't think that's why we lost tonight, let's be honest. Maybe it's a different game, it gives us some momentum but I don't believe it's the reason we lost."

Eels Head Coach Brad Arthur:

Team’s performance – “ I thought it was a good game, actually. We went into the sheds at half time leading 6-0, and I said to the boys what we wanted was a contest like that, just to give us a true indication of where we’re at. The Bulldogs completed at 84%, they kept coming at us, so it was a really good test.”

Thoughts on the No Try - "I thought it was forward, I just wasn't sure whether they're allowed to rule on it or not. That's a bit of common sense too isn't it? If it's a forward pass and we've got all this technology with the bunker, let's rule on it. Let's not have a try that's not a try."

Eels Skipper Kieran Foran:

Semi Radradra performance - “He is a phenomenal athlete and he is a really smart footballer. He trains his backside off. It pays off in the games. That is why he is able to jump up and take those catches and make those breaks, because he puts in the time and effort.”

NOTES:

- Will Hopaote continued his brilliant start in the blue and white with his third try in as many weeks.

- Round 4 will see Josh Morris play his 2ooth NRL match and Josh Reynolds play his 100th NRL match.

- David Klemmer played his 50th NRL match

- For the first time in the club’s history, the Bulldogs have more than 18,000 members under one jersey.
