Fiji and PNG have both named their test teams for the Pacific test match on Saturday.

Fiji Bati National Rugby League has today announced 18 players to represent their country against Papua New Guinea next Saturday May 2 at CBUS Super Stadium at Robina.

Head Coach Rick Stone will gather his team on the Gold Coast tomorrow for a week of preparations, including training, media, promotions and the Petero Civoniceva Medal night on Friday night.

Stone has selected a mixture of youth and experience with the nucleus of the team involved in the highly successful 2013 World Cup, along with some local Fijian players.

“It’s an exciting squad we have assembled, with some great young talent and plenty of experience,” Stone said.

“We are really looking forward to seeing players like Viliame Kikau and brothers Daniel and Jacob Safiti represent their country for the first time.

“The squad also includes three local Fijian players who will take enormous benefits from the week in camp, especially 19-year-old Tikio Noke, who has been selected again after being part of our World Cup squad in 2013.”
