The Canterbury-Bankstown Bulldogs are pleased to announce the signing of Antonio Kaufusi on a two year deal starting in 2015.

Kaufusi returns to Australia after playing for the Huddersfield Giants (17 games) and then the Bradford Bulls (4 games) in the English Super League throughout season 2014.

The 29-year-old who was born in Tonga made his NRL debut for Melbourne Storm in season 2003 and went on to play 78 games for the club through until the end of season 2008. Kaufusi has also played with the North Queensland Cowboys (33 games in 2009-10), Newcastle Knights (33 games in 2011-12) and London Broncos (56 games in 2012-13).

Head coach Des Hasler has welcomed the experienced forward with open arms for 2015.

“Antonio is an experienced player and he will add some depth to our forward pack for next season, “Hasler said.

Kaufusi told Bulldogs TV he is looking forward to the challenge of being back in the NRL again after three seasons abroad.

The NRL is the toughest game…It’s great to be back and to try test myself again.” Kaufusi said.

Antonio has settled in quickly at Belmore and turns his sights towards inserting himself into the established Bulldogs engine room.

“They have got a great pack here at the dogs… I want to get in there and put my front foot forward.”
