The Bulldogs NRL Auckland Nines hasn’t started the way they had hoped with the Broncos running out victors in the opening match, 20-4. As with all the matches, it was played at a frantic pace with neither side having time to work into the match.

It was action packed from the opening kick-off. It was Moses Mbye who opened the scoring in the sixth minute after some great lead up work from local junior Lachlan Burr. Mbye stepped he final defender and went round to score.

He couldn’t convert his own try with the score staying at 4-nil. The Broncos answered straight back with a try to Dale Copley in the eighth minute of play. He couldn’t convert his own try and the teams went to the half-time break level at-all.

The second half was all the Broncos with the men from north of the border crossing for four second half tries. Andrew McCullough went over for the second and his was followed up by Ben Hunt, Stewart Mills and former Bulldog Ben Barba.

Dale Copley was unable to convert any of the tries giving the Broncos a 20-4 victory.
