Bulldogs TV caught up with NYC player Denzel King after he was recently awarded the NSW Indigenous Trainee of the Year.

Congratulations Denzel King!

Talented Bulldogs NYC player Denzel King continues to receive accolade for his hard work off the playing field, receiving the prestigious NSW/ ACT Group Training Indigenous Apprentice/ Trainee of the Year Award at a recent gala event at the Westin Sydney on October 25.

This outstanding honour saw Denzel selected from a very strong field of nominees from across NSW and the ACT regional awards, with Denzel having previously been awarded the Central and Northern Sydney Indigenous Trainee of the Year Award in June.

Denzel works closely with Bulldogs Aboriginal Project Officer Dean Feeney in the NRLs learn earn legend School to Work program, mentoring local Aboriginal students and identifying career and educational paths for them.

Officially commencing pre-season training this week, Denzel will continue to balance his NYC training commitments and his traineeship with completing a cert 3 in Business and volunteering in the local community.

The future is certainly looking bright for this young pup!
