Sam Perrett has been rewarded for balancing his football career with planning for life after Rugby League at the annual Rugby League Players Association Awards dinner in Sydney.

Sam has won a 2013 Welfare and Education Player of the Year Award, presented as part of the RLPA annual awards dinner.

NRL Senior NRL Senior Welfare and Education Manager, Mr Paul Heptonstall, said the awards are based on a players balanced approach to career development, playing ability and educational mentoring support within their club.

These players are a great example of being able to balance a professional Rugby League career with the development of a profession away from the game, said Mr Heptonstall.
