Day 1:
We headed down to Perisher Ski Resort with members Con and Artemis for the prize they had won at members day.
I took a detour to Canberra to cover the Holden Cup and First grade matches, while Baa continued onto perisher before I joined them after the footy.
Con and Artemis enjoyed the footy on the big screen with Baa at Station Resort in Jindabyne, where we stayed. I arrived about 5:30PM where we headed out for dinner and to watch the later games of NRL.
The trip got off on the right note with the Bulldogs defeating the Raiders.
Day 2:
Today we hit the slopes of Perisher Ski Resort. It was Baas first time to the snow, my first time in a long time and for Members Con and Artemis it was their first time as well.
We headed to Bullocks flat, where we caught the ski tube to Perisher. Once we got to Perisher we picked up our ski gear and headed off to the slopes with instructor Scotty.
We picked the windiest day to hit the slopes, it was the biggest storm of the season with 130km/hr plus winds and for a beginner it was tough going on the slopes.
We spent a couple of hours on the slopes and unfortunately Baa was the victim of a number of falls but he did say going to the snow was on his bucket list.
In the afternoon we headed back to Station Resort before Baa and I checked out Lake Jindabyne, unfortunately I lost a bet with Baa for who would be the first to fall over on the slopes, which saw me jump into the lake.
It was freezing!!!!
It freshened me up, but it wasnt fun.
We headed into town to enjoy Sunday afternoon footy, where we ordered some dinner and had a quiet night in, because we were exhausted from the morning session on the ski slopes.
Day 3:
The final day we headed to Perisher for the morning before our long drive back to Sydney.
We drove up to the slopes from Jindabyne and what beautiful drive it is. No need for chains on the tyres as we were in Baas 4WD.
We spent the morning travelling around the slopes and we headed to Blue Cow where we got the opportunity to take it all in. We had a bit of fun, rolled down the slopes, threw snow balls at each other and really embraced the weather once again. It wasnt as windy as the day before, but gee it was cold!!
It certainly is a great experience and one I encourage all Bulldog members and fans to do.
If you have never been to the snow, it is a place you should all go to.
After spending the morning on the slopes, we headed back to Sydney, for the warmth and another job well done.
A big thank you to Perisher and for members Con and Artemis it was an experience they will never forget.
