The Canterbury-Bankstown Bulldogs will travel to AAMI Park in Melbourne to take on the Storm in their round three match on Thursday night.
In their first encounter since the devastating Grand Final loss in 2012, the Bulldogs will be doing everything they can to erase that from their memories with their sole focus on doing their best to register their second win for 2013 and coming away with the two points.
The Storm have had the ideal start to 2013, firstly winning the World Club Championship against the Leeds Rhinos in the United Kingdom and also winning their first two matches of the 2013 regular season in great style.
Front row forward Aiden Tolman believes the side will forget about the disappointment of the way last season finished and will be solely focused on this match.
Weve moved on, 2013 is a new year so were not worried about what has happened in the past, Tolman said. We havent played to our best yet and they always give us a good contest, so it will be a tough game to win.
We need to get better, we have been a bit scrappy so far and have dropped a lot of ball coming out our own end in both games and we certainly cant afford to be doing that this week.
They have some crafty players, we cant give them the opportunities. We need to do our best to slow down the ruck where we can so (Cameron) Smith cant get the jump on us out there.
When asked about the Big Three, the former Storm player was happy to sing their praises but also made mention of the other talent they have at the Club.
He (Billy Slater) is the best fullback in the game but there are 12 other players out there at the same time that we need to control as well. Billy runs off the back of what the forwards provide for him and Smith is one of the best players in the game at the moment and he is the one who starts the whole process for them at hooker.
Although the Grand Final didnt go the Bulldogs way, the squad will be taking some positives out of the match as well as from the victory in round 18 last year in Mackay.
We are both sides that pride ourselves on our defence but in Mackay last year we played some very enterprising footy so we know that it is a possibility against them.
