The Bulldogs Junior representative sides suffered two losses against the traditionally strong South Sydney club in Round 6 of the Junior Rep competitions at Redfern Oval on Saturday.
A disappointing Bulldogs Harold Matthews Cup side (Under 16) were defeated 52-16 against competition heavyweights South Sydney. The boys competed well early but with poor ball control, allowed the big South Sydney side to roll through the middle with little resistance.
Best for the Bulldogs Harold Matthews Cup side were, Jayden Okunbor, Will Kerr and John Paul Nakad.
In a match that could have gone either way, the SG Ball Cup side (Under 18) suffered a heartbreaking 19-18 loss against a tough and good South Sydney side. The boys were down 13-6 at halftime but fought back to lead 18-13 with less than 10 minutes remaining before a late Rabbitohs try sealed a win.
The side did not have much go their way and despite the loss, coach Brad Henderson was upbeat knowing the his team can improve and compete with the best sides in the competition.
Best for the Bulldogs SG Ball side were Tuuta Langi, Jordan Loto'Aniu and Royce Hunt
Both Bulldogs Junior Rep teams are in the top eight and Round 7 next week sees the Bulldogs back at Belmore Spots Ground to take on the Western Sydney Academy of Sport with the Harold Matthews Cup kicking off @ 11:30am and SG Ball Cup @ 1:00pm.
