The Canterbury-Bankstown Bulldogs continued their recent good form at Brookvale Oval with the side running out convincing 28-6 winners over the Manly Sea-Eagles.

We take a look at the key Quotes and Notes to come out of the Round 1 clash at Brookvale Oval.

QUOTES

Bulldogs Head Coach Des Hasler:

Thoughts on his big men - "They changed their lifestyles and I have to give a huge rap to the individuals that worked really hard in our high performance unit, but also to the players who bought into the mentality."

The performance of his halves - "I thought they were pretty good, pretty solid but they still have some improvement to go and that'll come."

Hopoate’s first performance in Bulldogs colours - "I thought Will Hopoate was really solid at the back, he was particularly strong."

Michael Lichaa injury - "It was more precautionary, he's been tremendous during the off-season. He worked really hard on all aspects that you need to as a nine these days. We expect he'll be okay." – Triple M Saturday

Thought’s on Manly - "Manly are going to be a difficult side to beat, "They will take a little while. They will continue to build and after a couple of rounds it will fall into place."

Sea Eagles Head Coach Trent Barrett:

On his side’s performance - They had 60 per cent of the footy in the first half and I think it showed with the reduction of interchange, if you give a team that much possession it's going to be hard and you're going to run out of gas. We didn't give ourselves a chance. Too many errors, we had four coming out of our own end. It was a bit of a wake up call for us."

Performance of his new halves - "It was never going to be the finished product. It was the first game they played together and I thought it looked like that at times."

- Adam Elliott made his NRL debut after coming onto the field early in the second half before leaving the field with an illness.

- The Bulldogs scored their 150th try against the Sea Eagles since 1947 at Brookvale Oval thanks to the opening try to winger Sam Perrett.
