Michael Lichaa fronted the media this week to discuss the week off, the win over the Raiders, Benji Marshall and Gareth Widdop and to look ahead to the Round 13 clash with the St George Illawarra Dragons.

After what has been a gruelling start to the 2015 season, having a few days off will certainly benefit the players.

“It was good to give the body rest and hopefully the Origin players are rested because we needed it,” said Lichaa.

Lichaa played an important part in the win over the Canberra Raiders and coming away with the two points minus a number of key personnel will give the squad plenty of confidence.

“We were happy with our performance, but to hold on and win with six or seven players out against a full strength Canberra side is very pleasing.”

The Dragons are the benchmark of the competition and the standouts for the Saints this year has been their halves and their defence, but if the Bulldogs play to their strengths, Lichaa believes the Dogs can get the two points.

“Their defence has been unbelievable this year and their halves are probably the form halves of the competition, but we know if we play to our best and our strengths, we can get the win.

“Our defence needs to be on song, because if we get that in order, we know our attack we flow off the back of it.”
