Lafai: Know your Role

Centre Tim Lafai explains the importance of knowing your role and why it has been a huge part of the sides success this year.

The Bulldogs put in their worse defensive effort of the season last weekend against the Tigers, leaking 46 points in what can only be described as very disappointing.

“The boys are disappointed with their performance and it’s up to us to turn it around,” said Lafai.

“The players as a group were very disappointed with the performance. We have covered off the areas that need fixing and have made one another very accountable for it,”

Turning their performance around will need to happen quick smart as they face a Cowboys outfit this weekend looking for their second win away from home all year and looking to continue their winning ways to stay in touch with the eight.

For the Bulldogs players, their success this year has come on the back of consistent footy, but also each player knowing their role and for Lafai, he believes if the playing squad to get back to focusing on this, than the result will sort itself out.

“We as a playing group need to turn up on the day, show we want to be there and do the things that we have been working all week at training,” said Lafai.

It’s a big game for the Bulldogs this week, because they will be looking to cement their spot in the top four and continue to break away from the log jam at the bottom of the top eight, while the Cowboys will be looking to record back to back victories and continue to climb the NRL ladder.

“Our defence was poor and for an area of our game that we pride ourselves on was certainly a concern and we need to address that area this week,”
