Bulldogs Institute of Tertiary Education Launched Alongside ISCA

The Canterbury-Bankstown Bulldogs are pleased to announce the launch of The International Sports College Australia Diploma of Sports Management (High Performance).

The International Sports College Australia (ISCA) operates as a specialist sports education brand and trading name of the International College of Management, Sydney (ICMS), an accredited Higher Education Provider registered with TEQSA.

The Diploma provides students with an innovative blend of training, coaching, learning and mentoring. It offers a well-rounded, multi-educational experience that combines elite high performance sporting fundamentals with state of the art facilities and curriculum.

Students are required to undertake six hours of practical training, encompassing both gym and field work, ensuring appropriate reflection aligned to the course learning outcomes. 

The Diploma is a nationally accredited higher education qualification, accredited under the governance of ICMS, will see students undertake three subjects per term in sports management, business and high performance alongside their work-integrated learning subjects.

The course goes hand in hand with the soon-to-be announced Bulldogs Institute of Tertiary Education – BITE – this experience will give students exclusive behind-the-scenes access to the Club’s Centre of Excellence and Accor Stadium as well as gain invaluable insights from members of the Bulldogs playing squads and commercial staff.

The announcement release just two weeks after the Bulldogs’ most recent foray into the education sphere, with the Club receiving a formal backing from the NSW Department of Education for the Game-Changers program.

Bulldogs CEO Aaron Warburton was pleased to announce the Club’s latest educational program.

“At the Bulldogs, we’re committed to giving students the best opportunity to fast-track their careers,” he said.

“Students completing the Diploma will be given a great opportunity to gain insights and experiences unique to our Club in line with the opening of our Centre of Excellence.

It’s another exciting step for the Club in the education sphere, and we’re excited to welcome our first intake of students at the Bulldogs.

Rowan Courtney-O’Connor, President and Managing Director of ICMS, said the partnership reflects the institutions commitment to industry-connected education.

“This initiative with the Bulldogs demonstrates what modern tertiary education should look like – immersive, industry-led, and designed in direct collaboration with elite sporting organisations to prepare students for real careers in sport.”

Ian Evans, General Manager of ISCA, is excited to be a part of the Club’s next wave of educational programs.

“We have been incredibly impressed by the Bulldogs’ innovation and commitment to education,” Mr Evans said.

The collaboration will provide students with hands-on experience in high-performance environments, with key learnings including strength and conditioning, coaching principles, nutrition, recovery and sports psychology.

“This Diploma is the first of its kind in Rugby League, and we are looking forward to seeing the first intake of students ahead of 2027.”
