Pathways Wrap Round 10: Reuben Seals Jersey Flegg Thriller

A high-scoring victory for the Jersey Flegg Cup side was the highlight of Round 10 for the Bulldogs Pathways sides. 

Meanwhile the NSW Cup and Ron Massey Cup sides had tough outings against the Roosters and Hawks respectively, 

NSW Cup: Bulldogs 10 def by Roosters 28

It was a tough defeat on Saturday afternoon for the Bulldogs NSW Cup side, downed 28-10 at Belmore Sports Ground in their clash against the Sydney Roosters.

A great ball from half Alex Conti put Josh Curran over to score the game's first try, before the Roosters went back-to-back to take the lead.

A four-pointer in the shadows of full-time to Logan Spinks put the Bulldogs back in the contest with a 12-10 scoreline in favour of the visitors at the break. 

However, the Roosters continued their momentum going into the second half half, touching down a further three times to seal the result. 

Jersey Flegg Cup: Bulldogs 36 def Roosters 34

Continuing their ascent up the ladder, the Bulldogs Jersey Flegg Cup side claimed a 36-34 victory over the Sydney Roosters at Belmore Sports Ground in a high-scoring shootout. 

Five-Eighth Bronson Reuben was the hero for the Bulldogs, kicking the winning two-point field goal with minutes remaining, while scoring a try and kicking a five conversions for a 16-point haul. 

Down 18-nil after 23 minutes, the Bulldogs rallied with tries to Latrell Fing (28th minute) and Michael Nassar (33rd), before the Tricolours hit back with a late four-pointer for a 24-12 lead at the break.

The Roosters extended further just two minutes into the second stanza, but the undeterred Canterbury side rallied to score four tries in 20 minutes to take an unlikely lead. 

A late try to Easts brought the scores level once more, before Reuben booted a 2-point field goal to secure the famous win with just minutes left on the clock. 

Ron Massey Cup: Bulldogs 12 def by Hawks 24

The Ron Massey Cup side's five-match winning streak came to an end with a 24-12 defeat at Lidcombe Oval on Saturday in their Round 7 clash against the Ryde-Eastwood Hawks.

Baxter Warner began proceedings for the Bulldogs, touching down in just the third minute, before the home side struck back soon after.

Jai Callaghan touched down for the Blue and Whites in the 20th minute, with neither side able to trouble the scoreboard before the break. 

However, the Hawks wrangled control of the match in the second 40, scoring a further four tries as the Bulldogs were unable to cross the line.
