Pathways Wrap Round 5: Mixed Results on Easter Weekend

It was a weekend of mixed results for the Senior Pathways teams in Round 6, with the Jersey Flegg Cup side claiming a victory, while the NSW Cup side were unable to claim victory on Good Friday.

Both the NSW Cup and Jersey Flegg Cup sides will face the Penrith Panthers at Belmore Sports Ground on Friday night. Meanwhile, the Ron Massey Cup side returns to the field for their Round 3 clash against Manly Leagues.

NSW Cup: Bulldogs 10 def by Rabbitohs 36

It was a tough defeat at Accor Stadium on Good Friday for the Bulldogs, downed 36-10 against the South Sydney Rabbitohs.

With a number of players pushing up into the first-grade side, it would youngster Alex Conti crossing first to give the Bulldogs an early lead. However, the Rabbitohs would bag two quick fire tries to take the lead.

A try to Jethro Rinakama in his first game back from a shoulder reconstruction put the Bulldogs back into the match, trailing by just two points at the break.

The second half proved to be a tough affair, with errors and ill-discipline hurting the Bulldogs' chances to mount a comeback, with the Rabbitohs taking full advantage to claim the win.

In a positive for the side, new recruit Kade Dykes made his first appearance for the Club, following his rehabilitation from an ACL injury.

Jersey Flegg Cup: Bulldogs 30 def Rabbitohs 20

The Jersey Flegg Cup side have moved into the top four with a strong victory over the previously undefeated Rabbitohs, 30-20 at Redfern Oval.

The Blue and White struck in quick succession with Patrick Young and Chelden Hayward scoring within the first five minutes. While Souths struck back, further four-pointers to Latrell Fing and Hayward's second gave the side a commanding 24-10 lead at the break.

The hosts struck back quickly upon resumption, however a try to Aaymon Fitzgibbon in the 57th minute all but sealed the result, despite a consolation touchdown to the Rabbitohs.
