Bulldogs and Jenny Souris Foundation Unite for Meaningful Match Day

The Canterbury-Bankstown Bulldogs will shine a spotlight on community, compassion and meaningful impact this Thursday night as the Jenny Souris Foundation takes centre stage as Match Day Partner for the Round 6 clash against the Penrith Panthers.

The occasion represents a powerful opportunity to raise awareness and critically needed funds for families facing some of life’s toughest challenges.

Established in 2021, the Jenny Souris Foundation was created to honour the life and legacy of Jenny Souris, a beloved member of the Bulldogs family and the ‘J’ in long-standing Club partner M&J Chickens. Following her passing in 2020 after a courageous battle with cancer, her family are committed to continuing her lifelong passion for helping others.

Today, the Foundation provides vital financial support to individuals and families experiencing hardship due to serious illness, helping to ease the burden of  the medical costs incurred during difficult times.

The connection between the Bulldogs, M&J Chickens and the Jenny Souris Foundation is built on a relationship grounded in family, loyalty and community. M&J Chickens has proudly supported the Bulldogs for over two decades, making it one of the Club’s most enduring and meaningful partnerships.

Bulldogs Chief Executive Officer Aaron Warburton emphasised the significance of the relationship, which has now been further extended through the establishment of the Jenny Souris Foundation, highlighting the match as an opportunity for the Bulldogs family to unite for a great cause.

"The Souris family aren't just partners, they're part of this Club's story. Jenny's warmth and generosity were felt by everyone who knew her, and what Maria and the family have built through the Foundation is a genuine continuation of who she was," Warburton said.

"Thursday night is about our community coming together to honour that legacy, and we're proud to stand alongside them.”

M&J Chickens and the Souris family stand as much more than a proud partner, they’re woven into the fabric of the Bulldogs. Their long-standing commitment to both the Club and the community is something we’re incredibly proud of and grateful for.

The main mission of the Foundation is to help provide funding for families and individuals who are suffering financial burdens that arise due to illness.

Maria Souris, daughter of Jenny and Co-Founder of the Jenny Souris Foundation reinforced the importance of community support and collective generosity.

“Every donation, no matter the size, helps us reach families when they need it most," said Maria.

Together with the Bulldogs and our proud community, we can continue mum's legacy of helping others.

Thursday night’s Round 6 match against the Panthers will serve as a platform to inspire that generosity and encourage Bulldogs Members and supporters to get behind the cause.

Supporters can play a vital role by donating directly to jsf.org.au, with all donations of $10 receiving a GA ticket to the Bulldogs' Round 9 Home Match at Accor Stadium against the North Queensland Cowboys.

Through the ongoing partnership between the Bulldogs, M&J Chickens and the Jenny Souris Foundation, Jenny’s legacy continues to live on bringing hope, support and strength to those who need it most.
