"Souths kept the score close at 10-4 at the break, which tested us," Foliaki said.
"Their relentless defence applied plenty of pressure, which was good for us to experience.
"In the second half, we got back to our game plan and managed to score some quick tries. We were a little rusty coming off the bye, but overall we're happy to come away with the win."
Harold Matthews Cup: Bulldogs 22 def by Rabbitohs 26
It was a narrow defeat for the Bulldogs' Harold Matthews Cup side, falling 26-22 at Redfern Oval against the Rabbitohs.
The Bulldogs had the perfect start to the match with Ezekiel Stanley-Ligaiviu crossing in the opening minute, however errors and ill-discipline saw the hosts run away to a 22-6 lead at the break.
Not to be deterred, the Blue and Whites came charging through with Stanley-Ligaiviu scoring his second, with Bronson Tupou and Elijah Biuvanua-Heather adding their names to the scoresheet as the scores became level. Unfortunately, Souths scored late to seal the victory

Mark O'Meley, the Harold Matthews Cup Head Coach, was proud of his side's effort in defeat.
"We knew this was going to be a serious challenge against Souths," he said.
"Early on we gave away too much possession, and you can't hand over the ball and expect to control momentum.
"Like we have shown in previous weeks the second half was built on fight and resilience. We came out and were hard to handle.
"While it ended in a close loss, the response and character shown in the second half is something we can certainly build on."

"it was a good win especially considering the number of changes made to the side,"
"While we were patchy in stages on both sides of the ball, however this is an area of focus going into next week.
"Overall it was a strong outing and exciting to see four players make their debut for the Club."
SG Ball Cup: Bulldogs 10 def by Rabbitohs 38
It was a tough outing for the SG Ball side at Redfern Oval in a 38-10 defeat to the Rabbitohs in Round 4.

Head Coach Steve Turner said his side gained valuable lessons from the match.
"It was a disappointing result, but there were still important lessons for our group,"
"We started well, but Souths capitalised on a few errors and took their moments. When we built pressure and completed our sets, we were able to play the footy we can and showed the character expected from a Bulldogs side.
"However, execution in key moments let us down. While it's a tough one to take, it's a valuable learning opportunity for a young group that's continuing to develop each week."
