Kane Constructions has been appointed to deliver the multi-million dollar High Performance Centre project at Belmore Sports Ground.

Construction officially began today on the Canterbury-Bankstown Bulldogs' multi-million dollar High Performance Centre at Belmore Sports Ground, with Kane Constructions appointed to deliver the project.

NSW Premier Chris Minns, and Member for Canterbury, Sophie Cotsis were on hand for the official groundbreaking ceremony, with Kane Constructions now set to commence building works with an expected completion date of early 2027.

Bulldogs Chairman Adam Driussi, CEO Aaron Warburton, NRL Head Coach Cameron Ciraldo, NRLW Head Coach Brayden Wiliame, NRL Captain Stephen Crichton and NRLW Fullback Andie Robinson were also on hand to witness the historic moment.

"This is a hugely significant day in the history of the Canterbury-Bankstown Bulldogs," Driussi said.

"As we officially hand over to Kane Constructions to bring our High Performance Centre to life, we're breaking ground on more than just a training facility. We're laying the foundations for decades of success for both our NRL and NRLW programs, whilst creating a venue that our local community can access and be proud of."

Jointly funded by the NSW Government and the Canterbury-Bankstown Bulldogs, the NSW Government is investing $40 million in the project.

Premier Minns said: "The Bulldogs have a proud history and this new Centre of Excellence will give this world-class footy club world-class facilities to train in. It's particularly pleasing that the women's team will benefit from the same high-performance environment as the men, and equally important that community groups will also have access to the outstanding new amenities."

Minister for Sport Kamper said: "Today's groundbreaking is a major milestone and a huge win for the local sporting community. The Bulldogs’ bond with their community is second to none, and this new facility will only deepen that connection.

“It's especially exciting to see the Bulldogs women’s team gain access to the same state-of-the-art facilities. Once completed, this Centre will be a true game-changer for the club and the wider community."

Member for Canterbury, Sophie Cotsis said: “The Bulldogs remain a celebrated symbol of success and a source of great pride for the people of southwest Sydney.

“Once completed, this Centre will create a significant legacy that will benefit both the club and the wider community.”

Kane Constructions NSW General Manager Brett Moore said the company was extremely proud to be trusted to deliver the project.

An independent review committee comprising Club delegates, Board representatives and industry experts was responsible for appointing Kane Constructions following a comprehensive tender process.

CEO Aaron Warburton said: "Today marks the start of an incredibly exciting new era for our Club. This moment has been years in the making - the vision, the planning, the collaboration and the enormous amount of hard work behind the scenes has led us to finally breaking ground on a home that will elevate every part of the Bulldogs’ football program.

We are thrilled to partner with Kane Constructions to bring this vision to life. They understand the significance of this project - not just for our players and staff, but for our Members, fans and the community that has stood by the Bulldogs for generations. We cannot wait to see this facility take shape and become a source of pride for everyone connected to our Club.

Situated atop the iconic Terry Lamb Hill, the three-storey facility will deliver world-class resources for the Club's NRL and NRLW programs while benefiting the wider community, including gymnasium and training areas, medical and aquatic rehabilitation facilities, meeting rooms, office space, and change rooms for both elite athletes and users of Peter Moore Fields.

Kane Constructions will commence building works from today, implementing comprehensive dust and noise control measures during the construction, with activities to be conducted within approved hours.

The Club's football programs will remain unaffected for the 2026 season.
