The Canterbury-Bankstown Bulldogs are pleased to announce the appointment of Adam O’Brien as an NRL Assistant Coach for the upcoming season.
O’Brien joins the Bulldogs following six seasons as Head Coach of the Newcastle Knights (2020–2025), where he guided the club to four finals series'.
A respected figure in the game, O’Brien brings extensive experience and a proven track record of success, having also served as an Assistant Coach at both the Melbourne Storm and Sydney Roosters, contributing to Premierships with each club.
O’Brien will reconnect with the likes of Sitili Tupouniua, Kurt Mann, Enari Tuala and new Bulldogs recruit, Leo Thompson, when the squad assembles in Belmore for pre-season training.
Meanwhile, the Club has also bolstered its football staff with two new additions. Trent Elkin has joined as Athletic Performance and Rehabilitation Lead and Michael Kulen will step into an Attack Analyst role.
Elkin arrives to Belmore with over two decades worth of experience in high performance programs. He started his career at the Bulldogs in the 1990s and returns after stints with the Cronulla Sharks, Parramatta Eels, NRL referees and South Sydney Rabbitohs.
Kulen has spent the last eight years with the Manly Sea Eagles as an analyst and has also worked with the New Zealand rugby league side.
