In the NRL, each position demands a unique skillset - and it’s the same when it comes to careers. Finding the right fit is everything; that’s exactly what Bass High students are discovering through the Bulldogs Game-Changers Program.
Over several weeks, the program equips students with the tools to step confidently into the world of work, helping them play to their strengths just like the pros.
They begin by exploring different career pathways and assessing their personal skills, working out which roles best match their passions and abilities - just as players size up which position suits their game.
From there, they learn how to write resumes and cover letters that stand out to employers, while also preparing job applications with precision. Students then train for job interviews, practising techniques and strategies that mirror the discipline of rehearsing set plays. Each session is designed to build confidence and sharpen professional skills.
What makes the program truly unique are the appearances from Bulldogs staff. They step into the classroom to share lessons on leadership, resilience, and the importance of networking and building professional relationships both on and off the field.
These real-life insights show students that success isn’t just about talent; it’s also about strategy, communication, and surrounding yourself with the right team.
With thanks to course sponsor MacLend, local resident, businessman, and lifelong Bulldogs fan Joseph Ibrahim has played a pivotal role in inspiring students.
Born and raised in the community, Joseph brings two decades of experience in the finance industry and shares wisdom that is both practical and deeply personal.
“I grew up here waving the Bulldogs flag and I know the challenges these young people face," Ibrahim said.
To see the Bulldogs investing in their futures means everything - because when our youth succeed, our whole community wins.
By blending locker room wisdom with practical career coaching, the Bulldogs help Bass High students draft their own winning playbooks.
This isn’t just preparation for any job…it’s training for a career built on opportunity, teamwork, and long-term success.
