In this new series, we’ll be celebrating the best of our 90-Year Anniversary – from our Club events to our record-breaking crowds and best performances – these are the moments that made 2025.
In part five, we’re looking back at the greatest comeback of the season which saw the NRL side claim a famous victory in the nation’s capital.
Captain Crichton Leads the Way
Going into Round 10, the Bulldogs headed down the Federal Highway to face Canberra Raiders in a top-of-the-table clash in front of a strong crowd of 23,867 - a good majority of which were donning the Blue and White.
But after taking the field to the cheers of their loyal Members and supporters over the top of the infamous ‘Viking Clap’, the Bulldogs found themselves down at the break with a 20-nil scoreline after an uncharacteristic first-half performance.
Victory seemed beyond reality. That was until Captain Stephen Crichton stepped up to the plate.
The Bulldogs skipper burst through the right side just four minutes on resumption, scoring one of the great individual tries of the season to put his side on the board.

Just two minutes later, Crichton laid on Jaeman Salmon for another scintillating four-pointer, and ‘Dogs were back in business. While fullback Connor Tracey was denied soon after, the momentum had well and truly shifted Canterbury’s way.
A left side swing saw veteran winger Marcelo Montoya cross after quick hands put him over, and the Bulldogs hit the front for the first time after powerhouse prop Max King crossed next to the sticks.
Viliame Kikau swan-dived over as the ball swung left once again, and the result was all but sealed after Jacob Kiraz burst through on the other side as the Bulldogs headed home 32-20 victors, keeping their spot on top of the table.
