Moments That Made 2025: NRLW Pre-Season Begins

In this new series, we’ll be celebrating the best of our 90-Year Anniversary – from our Club events to our record-breaking crowds and best performances – these are the moments that made 2025.

The month of May was a month to celebrate, not only with the NRL side dominating the competition, but the NRLW gearing up for their inaugural season.

With Head Coach Brayden Wiliame put his finalised 24-player squad through their paces, as the newest Bulldogs hit the training paddock at Belmore Sports Ground in preparation of a historic year for the Club.

Tayla Preston and Angelina Teakaraanga-Katoa were named as Co-Captains, joined by experienced campaigners Holli Wheeler, Ashleigh Quinlan and Tegan Dymock.

The roster also included exciting young talent through the Club's Pathways in the form of Latisha Smyhe, Pauline Suli-Ruka and Simina Lokotui, along with those with vital NRLW experience such as Andie Robinson, Shannon Muru and Kalosipani Hopoate.

2025 NRLW Trial Match: Bulldogs vs Eels

It proved to be a defining moment for the Club, with their inaugural NRLW squad not only assembled, but forming bonds and creating combinations that would lay the foundations of their own legacy.

And all their hard work saw the pre-season end on a high as the Bulldogs notched their first victory of the season in their trial against Parramatta, in a solid 24-18 hit-out.
