The Canterbury-Bankstown Bulldogs are proud to support the Jenny Souris Foundation ahead of its annual fundraising gala on October 15.
The foundation was launched in 2021 in honour of the late Jenny Souris – the ‘J’ in M&J Chickens, who are one of the Club’s longest-standing corporate partners.

Jenny passed away in 2020 after a 10-year battle with cancer. It was during this time that Jenny learnt how financially taxing life-threatening illnesses are and as such, the foundation was created in her honour to ease that pressure for others.
This year’s recipient for the gala is 10-year-old Tristan Pollard – a loud and proud Bulldogs supporter.
Tristan is currently in the battle of his life after being diagnosed two years ago with Stage 3 Translocation Renal Cell Carcinoma - an extremely rare and aggressive cancer that does not respond to chemotherapy or radiation.
Surgery has been the only conventional option for Tristan, who underwent his second operation in April 2024 after a CT scan revealed disease progression in his chest.
Sadly, complications followed and Tristan developed a chylothorax due to an injury to the thoracic duct during surgery, which filled his chest cavity with lymphatic fluid and collapsed his right lung.
Tristan spent four weeks in hospital and it was during this time that the Pollard family was delivered the devastating news that his cancer had progressed to stage 4, with a 30% survival rate.

Tristan’s parents have since built a dedicated care team and have explored every natural and integrative option available – including a supplement that cost $8,000.
They also tried immunotherapy on the advice of their oncology team, however sadly Tristan has declined rapidly and he is now using a wheelchair and rarely leaving his home.
This has all come at a cost for the Pollard family, who are currently living on one income so mother, Dom, can dedicate all of her time to caring for Tristan, as well as his older brother Harlan.
The Pollards are now faced with two promising, but financially out-of-reach, options. The first is a $25,000 treatment in Canada with a specialised doctor who offers a tailored plan. The second is a remote program with a USA-based doctor, who is a survivor of stage 4 brain cancer, which costs $15,000 USD.
If you would like to help the Pollard family, you can purchase a ticket to the gala here, or make a donation to the foundation here.
