NRLW Round 4 Match Preview: Dogs Take On Premiers

Canterbury have turned plenty of heads in their inaugural NRLW campaign but they experienced their first hiccup last weekend.

The Bulldogs conceded a last-minute try to fall to the Dragons, their first loss of the season. Now, they get a chance to stamp their claim as a genuine premiership contender and halfback Tayla Preston will look to steer her side to a statement victory.

They'll be buoyed by the inclusion of Co-Captain Angelina Teakaraanga-Katoa who not only returns from suspension, but has the opportunity to lead her side to victory against her former club.

Another former Rooster in Pani Hopoate will be out to have a big performance, and she will be pivotal in providing impact off the bench having run a whopping 394 metres in 92 minutes so far this season.

Brayden Wiliame Press Conference: NRLW Round 4

The defending Premiers are eager to keep the momentum rolling as they prepare to take on the Bulldogs at Allianz Stadium on Saturday afternoon.

John Strange's side has made an undefeated start to the season and sent a statement with a four-point win over the Broncos in Brisbane last week.

Reigning Dally M Medallist Olivia Kernick has continued to stamp her claim as one of the game's elite players while veteran Corban Baxter has made an impressive return after missing all of last year with a knee injury.

Team News

Bulldogs: Physical prop Angelina Teakaraanga-Katoa is straight back into the starting side in her return from suspension, with Hope Millard moving to the bench and Paea Uilou to the reserves. Moana Courtenay is back on deck in the centres after she was a late withdrawal last week due to a groin injury.

Roosters: Golden Boot winner Tarryn Aiken has been named in the reserves as she pushes to return from a shoulder injury suffered in the State of Origin series. Coach John Strange has named an unchanged team to the one that defeated the Broncos last week, with Brydie Parker at fullback and Keeley Davis at prop.
