Senior Pathways Wrap Round 6: Bulldogs and Silktails Come Together

There was plenty of points in both the Jersey Flegg Cup and Ron Massey Cup clashes this weekend.

Jersey Flegg Cup: Bulldogs 44 def Silktails 14

The Bulldogs hosted affiliated club the Kaiviti Silktails in the Round 6 clash, prevailing with a strong 44-14 victory. 

The young Bulldogs asserted their dominance from the get-go, with six first-half tries including a double to centre Cooper Toy giving them a 34-4 lead. 

However, the second half proved to be a different story, with both sides scoring two tries apiece as the Bulldogs scored their fourth win of the season and sit in fifth position. 

The Bulldogs will face off against the South Sydney Rabbitohs in Round 7 at Belmore Sports Ground, while the Silktails head down to Victoria to face off against the Melbourne Storm.

Ron Massey Cup: Bulldogs 34 def by Hawks 38

It was a high-scoring thriller at TG Millner Field on Sunday afternoon, with the Bulldogs run down by the Ryde-Eastwood Hawks, 38-34.

The Bulldogs shot out of the blocks to a 24-10 lead at the break thanks to tries to Carson Tmalii, Taniela Otukolo, Mac Puafisi and Lleyton Borg. 

Unfortunately, the home side returned serve in the second stanza, with a 77th minute try to Bronson Reuben giving the Bulldogs hope, but were unable to reclaim the lead. 

The Bulldogs will host St Marys at Hammondville Oval on Saturday night in Round 6.
