Bulldogs Academy Team List: Round 7

The Canterbury-Bankstown Bulldogs Junior Representative sides have been named for Round 7 of their respective seasons.

As we head into the last rounds of the regular season, our sides are zeroing in on making it to the 2024 finals for their chance to play for Premiership glory.

Reigning premiers in our Bulldogs Harold Matthews are eyeing a well-placed finish, currently tied on points with Parramatta (11 points), 1 point behind the Magpies. The Bulldogs sit ahead of Eels in second position on for and against.

In its inaugural full season, the Lisa Fiaola Cup is shaping up to be a fierce competition. The Bulldogs have enjoyed a great start to the season, undefeated in all six games, sitting atop the table with a bye still to come in Round 8.

A dominant Round 6 win (94-0) has meant the squad has scored 334 points to date - the most of any team - with 212 of those coming in the last three rounds alone. Sitting on 12 competition points, the blue-and-white have conceded only 40 points and will be hoping to keep their attack firing during the back end of the season.

The opening six rounds of the SG Ball Cup has shown the competition is ‘anyone’s to win’ with the ladder currently tight between all 16 clubs. The Bulldogs, after a dominant 50-18 round 6 win over the Sharks, have enjoyed a jump up the ladder from 10th to 6th position to put us in prime finals contention. An additional two points out of Round 7 this weekend could prove extremely valuable to their finals pursuit.

Last year’s Tarsha Gale runners-up are currently sitting in third on 10 points. A gritty, near miss on the two points over the weekend has seen last year's premiers in the Roosters Indigenous Academy jump to second, also on 10 points. The Steelers remain in the top spot with only two points separating the three sides.

The final rounds will prove crucial for the Tarsha Gale squad as they aim to bounce back this weekend against the Tigers.

A word from the Coach, Michael Stuart: "Our team’s exceptional performance on the field is a reflection of the unity we’ve created off the field. A bond like no other.

"The girls' push support was fantastic on the weekend and resulted in 17 tries. The grit and determination to never take their foot off the throttle, despite the scoreline is what they should be most proud of. We will stay humble and continue to develop and improve this week as we prepare to take on a strong Tigers side."
