A whole new world for Canterbury

The Canterbury-Bankstown Bulldogs are pleased to announce that world-leading blockchain gaming studio, Illuvium, has proudly renewed their partnership with the Club.

Illuvium, an open-world explorative game that allows its’ users to collect NFT creatures and auto battle them, first partnered with the Bulldogs in 2022 and now stands to remain on board through to the end of 2023.

As the Club’s Official Web3 Gaming Partner, the two organisations have enjoyed some fun and unique endeavours since forming an agreement, none more notable than the launch of the one-off Illuvium jersey as worn by the players in Round 25 of the 2022 NRL Telstra Premiership.

The Bulldogs have a strong history of producing unique, fan-driven special jerseys including Star Wars and Avatar designs which generated national interest. The limited edition Illuvium jersey, which was made available to the public online and in an exclusive bundle with a Cosplay NFT, proved to be a staggering success, selling out quickly and exposing millions of fans worldwide to the Bulldogs and the NRL.

“The partnership with Illuvium was a first for both organisations,” said Bulldogs Chief Executive Officer, Aaron Warburton.

“When our partnership commenced in 2022, we knew we had a good opportunity to add value to Bulldogs and Illuvium fans alike. The Jersey we launched was a fantastic hit that helped the club grow our supporter base across the USA, Europe and Asia.

“Kieran has been a long-term supporter of our Club and his on-going dedication to helping us grow is exemplary. We are thrilled to be extending our partnership with Kieran and his team, and we see this partnership as a great way to cross-promote in the entertainment industry.”

Following the success of the limited edition NFT and Bulldogs jersey design in 2022, the two organisations have agreed to return a similar offering in 2023 with a custom design expected to be revealed in the coming weeks.

As part of the partnership, the Illuvium logo proudly features on a range of retail items including visors, caps, bucket hats and beanies. A digital package that connects the Bulldogs community to the Illuvium online ecosystem will also be made available.

“The Bulldogs pride themselves on respecting their rich history, celebrating their community and in creating the future,” said Illuvium Co-Founder, Kieran Warwick.

“Illuvium is at the forefront of exploring the future, through online landscapes and through user ownership of their in-game assets. Much like the Bulldogs do on the field every week, users can challenge opponents, develop their playing style and simply enjoy a fun game.

“Through this partnership, we hope even more people can enjoy the thrilling benefits each game offers, whether its on the rugby league field or an open-world online exploration. I’m a passionate Bulldogs supporter and I look forward to the fun and exciting ways we plan to celebrate this partnership in 2023.”
