NSW Cup side put Dragons to the sword

The Canterbury-Bankstown Bulldog's NSW Cup have continued their perfect start to the season with a convincing 34-4 victory over theSt George Illawarra Dragons at Netstrata Jubilee Stadium on Sunday afternoon.

Bulldog's fullback Joash Papalii split open the Dragon's defence through the middle in the 14th minute, before an awaiting Braidon Burns got brought down 20 metres from the try line. Five-eighth Khaled Rajab seized up the opportunity to throw a long ball from right to left into the hands of winger Blake Wilson, who woud dive over in the left corner.

Canterbury-Bankstown were alive and kicking minutes later when the score increased to 12-0. The Bulldog's working the ball to the left edge off an attacking scrum for Wilson to race 40 metres for his second of the afternoon in the 21st minute.

The onslaught continued again when hooker Ryan Grey broke clear from dummy-half, 30 metres from the Bulldog's try line. Kurtis Morrin collecting the ball to put Papalli in the clear to race 30 metres to dot down underneath the crossbar. He would slot his own try to push the score out to 18-0 after 27 minutes.

The Bulldogs started the second half strongly completing their opening set. After continued possession, the Belmore-based side was able to pick apart the Dragon's defence once again. Jayden Okunbor latched onto a cutout pass to dive over for the Bulldog's 4th try of the day.

Winger Jeral Skelton got in on the action when he powered his way over in the 64th minute. Before the match was put to bed minutes later when forward Zac Montgomery dived a chip kicking in the in-goal to stretch out the lead.
