Bulldogs to Take on the Western Clydesdales in Toowoomba

Our Canterbury-Bankstown Bulldogs NSW Cup and Jersey Flegg squads are set to take on trial fixtures against the Western Clydesdales Hostplus Cup and Deering Colts teams this weekend.

The fixtures have been set as part of the on-going partnership between the Bulldogs and the Western Clydesdales and are set to see future stars of the Canterbury-Bankstown Bulldogs NRL team collide.

The two sides form part of the Bulldogs Academy, representing feeder sides from across both the NSW and South-West Queensland regions. The Western Clydesdales have returned to the QLD Cup after nearly two decades away and the newly formed side has benefited under the guidance of Bulldogs Head Coach, Jason Alchin.

As part of the affiliation between the clubs, Alchin has overseen the establishment of the Bulldogs Academy program in the region, working with the Clydesdales staff both on and off the field, and with Bulldogs representatives making frequent visits to Toowoomba since the three-year partnership was formed.

The Academy plays an important role in the Club's development pathways strategy to produce and nurture tomorrow's professional athletes and this weekend, Bulldogs greats Paul Langmack and Terry Lamb will join General Manager of Football, Phil Gould to visit the area for a sportsmans lunch (the Bulldogs Legends Lunch) and to watch the two sides clash.
