A Bottle for the Bulldogs: Kalki Moon Unveils New Limited-Edition Gin

The Canterbury-Bankstown Bulldogs have welcomed the return of a joint venture with Kalki Moon Distillery and are pleased to announce the release of a new limited-edition gin just in time for Christmas.

Kalki Moon was founded in Bundaberg’s infamous cane fields and has since grown to become the region’s artisan distillery and Canterbury-Bankstown Bulldogs’ official gin partner.

The pairing, which was formed ahead of the Bulldogs famously bringing the first National Rugby League (NRL) match to the region in 2022, once again sees the Club choosing to back local Bundaberg business.

“We’re extremely proud of our partnership with Rick [Prosser] and his Bundaberg distillery, Kalki Moon,” said Bulldogs CEO Aaron Warburton.

“From the moment we first met with Rick, we spoke about the shared vision for highlighting Bundaberg’s diverse offerings. For locals, tourists, and business owners alike, there’s something for everyone in Bundaberg.”

Earlier this month the Bulldogs announced a return to the area in the 2023 season, opting to bring one of their NRL home games back to Bundy where they will take on the Dolphins in Round 22 of the Telstra Premiership draw.

“Last year, much like the game in Bundaberg, the limited-edition Bulldogs’ gin that Kalki Moon offered was a sell-out success,” said Warburton.

“1000 bottles of Kalki Moon’s finest gin that featured our Club’s logo sold out within hours of going to market and we are so pleased to have been able to work with Rick and the distillery to be able to extend another limited-edition range for our fans.”

The new limited-edition gin bottle, of which just 1500 units will be available to purchase, is adorned by the Bulldogs’ 2023 away jersey design – the jersey that will be worn by the Bulldogs team throughout the 2023 season, including during the hometown match-up against the Dolphins.

“Since the release of the first 1000 bottles, which we affectionately dubbed as ‘A Bottle for the Bulldogs,’ we have been overwhelmed by requests for a new edition,” said Rick Prosser, Founder & Owner of Kalki Moon.

Prosser grew up in Bundaberg and spent many years perfecting his distillation technique before deciding in 2017 that it was time to create the Kalki Moon Gin: a premium drink that would define the region.

“We love that the Bulldogs – a major NRL Club – is supporting our region and small businesses here in Bundaberg,” Mr Prosser said.

“We are thrilled to unveil the new limited-edition bottle just in time for Christmas. Last year’s bottle commemorated the Round 21 fixture between the Bulldogs and the Cowboys at Salter Oval. This year’s design is a homage to the team who continue to support our hometown.”

The limited-edition gin, whose bottles adorn the Bulldogs’ blue and white badge, makes for a fantastic gift or addition to a personal bar collection. 1000 of the bottles will be available to purchase online, here from 11:00AM AEDT (NSW)/10:00AM AEST (QLD). An additional 500 bottles will be sold exclusively from the Kalki Moon Distillery in Svensson Heights, QLD.
