Bulldogs unable to chase down Bears in NSW Cup

The Canterbury-Bankstown Bulldogs have suffered a 18-12 loss to the North Sydney Bears at Accor Stadium in Round 8 of the 2022 NSW Cup Premiership on Saturday afternoon.

Declan Casey opened the scoring for the home side when he collected a well placed crossfield kick from halfback Bayley Hayward to dive over in the left corner in the 9th minute for a converted try.

The Bears hit back when Tuku Hau Tapuha crashed over close to the line. Though the lead was short lived when Casey went over for his second of the afternoon in the 30th minute were the score remained 12-6 at halftime.

North Sydney winger Vuate Karawalevu slid down the right touch line to get his side back in the game. The Fijian winger would cross for a double in the 58th minute to grab a 16-12 lead for the visitors.

Bear's five-eighth Ronald Volkman slotted a penalty goal from 20m out to build a buffer between both sides in a close contest on the 70th minute mark.
