Elliott and Smith sidelined with injuries

The Canterbury-Bankstown Bulldogs can confirm Adam Elliott will miss the next six weeks due to a fractured cheekbone.

Elliott was taken from the field during his side’s loss to the Parramatta Eels in the 55th minute after a head clash with Eels five-eighth Dylan Brown.

The back-rower failed to return to the field with scans following the match confirming he had suffered a fractured cheekbone.

The 26-year old underwent surgery on Monday night and will spend the next six weeks on the sideline.

Meanwhile, Tui Katoa and Nick Cotric have both passed their post-game HIA protocols following head knocks during the Bulldogs round 15 match with Parramatta.

Katoa was taken from the field for a HIA after he was collected high by Nathan Brown, while Cotric left the field in the 68th minute.

In other injury news, Chris Smith has sustained a grade one syndesmosis ankle injury and will be out for four to six weeks.

The forward picked up the injury playing for Mounties with no surgery required.
